Adele Marguerite Hays
Virden- Adele Marguerite Hays, 95 of Virden, IL passed away Wednesday Jan. 16, 2013 at her home.
Adele was born Dec. 21, 1917 in Virden, IL a daughter of John James and Muriel Marguerite (Kennedy) Rankin. She was a 1935 graduate of Virden High School; a member for 83 years of the First Presbyterian Church, Virden, IL and in 1992 was Church Woman of The Year and a 70-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Palmyra Chapter. Adele married Elmore L. Hays Oct. 25, 1941 in Virden, IL.
Adele is survived by her daughter, Janell Marguerite (A. Michael) Bednara of Osage Beach, MO. Grandsons, John Andrew “Drew” (Joli) Bednara and Scott Hays (Jackie) Bednara, great grandsons Andrew Hays Bednara and William Henry Bednara all of Springfield, MO, nephew, Richard (Diane) Hays of Destin, FL and cousins Brian, Bob and Rick Rankin. Preceding Adele in death was her husband Elmore L. Hays and her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with funeral services at Noon at the funeral home. Rev. Sue Sawers officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Girard, IL. Memorials may be made to North Mac Agriculture Dept., Virden, IL, Union Chapel Cemetery Girard, IL or First Presbyterian Church, Virden, IL.
