Auburn –Mike P. Hoodak 95 of Auburn, IL passed away Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auburn, IL.

Mike was born Nov. 12, 1917 in Pawnee, IL. a son of Nicholas and Helen (Vansac) Hoodak. Mike married Wilma J. Bentley Sept. 25, 1961 in Auburn, IL. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL. Mike was a WW II Army veteran, a member of K of C Council 364 in Springfield, IL. and the American Legion Post # 277 in Auburn, IL. Mike was a meat cutter for 28 years for Kroger Grocery Stores and worked as an independent meat cutter for 7 years.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. (Edward) Hoodak-Henn of Waverly, IL two grandchildren, Helen A. and Kody Henn. Preceding Mike in death was his wife, Wilma J. Hoodak, sisters, Mary K. and Helen A. Hoodak, brothers, Nicholas, Steven, Joseph and Matthew Hoodak, his niece Beverly Pratt and his nephew Joseph Hoodak II.

Visitation was from 5;00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Auburn, IL with a 5 p.m. rosary service. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 18, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL. Father Chris House officiating organist was Karen Greifzu. Pallbearers were Edward, Kody, Mike and Thomas J. Henn, Gene Maley and Bill Ferry. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Parish St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL.
