Nickie Maynerich

Virden-Nickie Maynerich, 61, of Virden, IL passed away at 11:56 P.M. Saturday December 8, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Nickie was born October 20, 1951 in Springfield, IL a daughter to John E. and Wanda (Peterson) Hein.  She was a graduate of Virden High School, class of 1969.  She obtained her Associates Degree from Lincolnland C.C. in Springfield, IL.  Nickie later married Frank Maynerich, Jr. on Aug. 18, 1973 in Virden, IL, he survives.  Nickie was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Virden, IL.

Surviving Nickie are her husband, Deacon Frank Maynerich, Jr. mother, Wanda Hein of Virden, IL; sons, Mark J. (Laci) Maynerich and John M. (Margo) Maynerich both of Springfield, IL, Luke N. Maynerich of Chatham, IL, Matthew A. (Amanda) Maynerich, Paul J. Maynerich both of Virden, IL; daughters, Sarah N. (Lucas) Pierce and Rachel A. ( Matthieu Sexton) Maynerich both of Virden, IL; sisters, Shelley (Jim) Marsaglia of Girard, IL, Kris (Tom) Cervellone of Springfield, IL, Gretchen Henry of Milwaukee, WI; 8 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Preceding Nickie in death is her father, John E. Hein.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church in Virden, IL with prayer service at 4:00 P.M. and visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Mass which will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday December 12, 2012 at St. Joseph The Worker  in Chatham with Rev. George Morelock, Rev. Chris House and Rev. John Nolan officiating. Velma Kathrya Hamilton 

Virden – Velma K. Hamilton 103 passed away Friday Dec. 7, 2012 at her home.

Velma was born Nov. 26, 1909 to William M. and Ida L. (Beckner) Gibson on a farm west of Virden the last of 5 children. She was a 1928 graduate of Girard High School and was married to James D. “Dave” Hamilton on Sept. 29, 1928 in Girard for 82 years and 10 months. They had two children, Dwain (deceased) and Phyllis Bosler. She was a member of the Virden Church of The Brethren where she taught Sunday School Classes, Mission Director, pianist, organist and sang with her husband, son and daughter in the choir. She was formerly the secretary for the yoked Virden and Girard Church of the Brethren. She formerly worked at Sprague’s Drug Store, Your Flower and Gift Shop and worked in the cafeteria and kitchen for four years at the Virden High School.

Surviving Velma is her daughter, Phyllis Bosler, 5 granddaughters, Debra (Ron) Bond, Jill (Jim) Best, Nancy (Robert) Abruscato, SueZann Bosler and Lynette (William) Casper, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Dave Hamilton, son, Dwain Hamilton, brothers, Wilbur and Claude Gibson and sisters, Alta Moreland and Lola Deming, precedes Velma in death.

Visitation will from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday Dec. 9, 2012 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday Dec. 10, 2012 at the Virden Church of the Brethren, Virden, IL with Rev. Robert Funk and Rev. David Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Virden, IL. Chatham – June Hall, 82, of Chatham, IL formerly of Virden, IL passed away Monday Dec. 3, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.

June was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Springfield, IL a daughter of Arthur P. and Esther Alice (Gass) Bickel. June graduated in 1947 from Virden High School and married Paul A. Hall July 19, 1948 in Morganfield, KY. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Springfield, IL being a vacation bible schoolteacher and also attended the adult 2X2 class along with her husband. She was a member and past Noble Grand of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Lodge # 63 of Springfield, IL. She and her husband were the founding members Holiday Rambler R.V. Club chapter # 158, The Heritage Trail Ramblers and chapter # 222, Lincoln land Ramblers trailer clubs. June was a devoted member of the Prairieland Heritage Museum Association in Jacksonville, IL in which her parents Arthur and Esther Bickel were founding members. She was a founding member of the Sharps and Flats Organ Club of Springfield, IL. A member of the Sangamon County Genealogical Society in Springfield, IL a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Daughters of the War of 1812.

June is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Gene) Begolka of Springfield, IL, sons, Herschel (Linda of Piasa, IL, Michael (Rhona) Hall of Chatham, IL and Phillip (Carol) Hall of Girard, IL, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Preceding June in death was her parents and her husband Paul A. Hall.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 5, 2012 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday Dec. 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Nick Oyler and Rev. Barbara Powers. Organist, Scott Walkington.  Burial will be in West Cemetery Thayer, IL. Pallbearers will be Larry Buske, Robert Liechty, Matthew Hall, Christopher Hall, Bryan Nicoll and Daniel Hall. Memorials may be made to The American Theatre Organ Society, Springfield, IL.
